Xie Wei

Xie Wei, male, enrolled in International Maritime major, Dalian Maritime University in 1995, graduated in 1999, and continued his study in our school on International Economic Law. After graduated in 2002, Xie entered the Ministry of Commerce, department treaty and law, during which time he participated in the revision of “foreign trade law”. The main purpose of this work is to make China's foreign trade in line with the basic law of the WTO legal requirements and can adapt to new situations. He organized the Chinese government delegations to attend United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and participated in the drafting of "International Convention on Maritime Transportation Act", provisions of which reflect the reasonable demands of the Chinese government and industry. Xie also participated in the impact assessment of the convention on the Chinese maritime cargo transport, which was organized by Ministry of Transportation. In April 2007, Xie went to work in the Special Commissioner's Office of Ministry of Commerce. During this time, he organized and participated in several research works related to the three northeast provinces, and reported local business development. In April 2009, Xie transferred back to Department of Treaty and Law, and was in charge of dealing with the respondent cases of Chinese government under the frame wok of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, Defending the legitimacy of the respondent’s trade policy and industrial policy. Xie also participated in preparatory work of many WTO cases China initially launched, in order to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of our country in the WTO through dispute settlement mechanism. In July 2012, he fill the post in Chinese Mission to the EU, and was responsible for Europe trade friction (anti-dumping, anti-subsidy), Central European investment agreements and EU IPR etc.. He served as deputy director of Clerks, Senior Staff, Deputy Director, Second Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
