主讲人简介About the speaker

Prof. Dr. Michael G. Faure LL.M. is academic director of the Maastricht European institute for transnational legal research (METRO) and professor of Comparative and International Environmental Law at the law faculty of Maastricht University since 1991, academic director of the Ius Commune Research School, a collaboration between the Universities of Amsterdam, Leuven, Utrecht and Maastricht since 1995, and half time professor of comparative private law and economics at the Rotterdam Institute of Law & Economics (RILE) and academic director of the European Doctorate in Law and Economics (EDLE) programme of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam since 2008.

Prof. Faure is equally attorney at the Antwerp Bar since 1982. He has published numerous papers in internationally refereed journals and American law reviews. He has also published several influential books. He has often provided policy advice to the governments of Belgium, the Netherlands, and to the European Commission.
