Welcome Address by the Deans of DMU Law and SU Law to the First Cohort of Students in Double Maritime Law LLBs Programme

I am delighted to welcome you to the Law School of Dalian Maritime University. As the first cohort of students in the Joint Double Degree Programme in LLB Law between Dalian Maritime University (DMU) and Swansea University (SU), you are the witnesses and participants of the new era of legal education at DMU.
The joint programme between DMU and SU marks a landmark achievement in Sino-British collaboration in maritime law education, with eastern and western teaching expertise blended and civil and common law integrated. We are committed to cultivating legal talents in line with international standards. We hope that you will become legal professionals equipped with international competence and comprehensive global perspectives in the future.
As you are about to embark on an exciting journey in law studies at DMU, I wish you smooth sailing and a bright future ahead!

We’re excited to see so many of you have placed yourselves at the forefront of legal education by enrolling in this cutting edge degree. While this programme might be new, our relationship with Dalian Maritime University has been bearing fruit for nearly two decades, with students reaping the benefits that only two titans in Maritime Law could offer.
