China Civil Law Research Association has been established for 30 years, and from October 24 to 25, its 2015 Annual Conference was grandly held in Haikou, Hainan with China Civil Law Research Association being the host and Law School of Hainan University being the organizer. More than 300 participants, including experts and scholars from over 100 law schools and delegates from legal practice department, attended the conference.
Professor Zhai Yunling, Standing Director of China Civil Law Research Association, and Associate Professor Wang Wenjun attended this conference. Professor Zhai also attended the Standing Committee Meeting of this conference, and presided over the group discussion on “Major Issues on the Implementation of Civil Law”. At the same time, he proposed his own point of view on interpretation of Property Law’s basic principles and on realization of real right for security. Associate Professor Wang also gave his opinions on the establishment of Civil Code, and gained participants’ positive responses.
The theme of this conference is “Comprehensively Promoting the Rule of Law and the Compiling of Civil Code”, and the scholars had also delved into the legislative philosophy of Civil Code, compilation method of Civil Code, Civil Code system,general provisions section and personal right law section for a day and a half. Apart from that, this conference presented Special Contribution Award of China Civil Law Research Association to 17 senior civil law scholars, and presented 2015 Tong Rou Civil and Commercial Law Development Fund Young Outstanding Achievement Award to 5 young scholars. The conference also played a video to extend salute to the senior civil law jurists.
