Guo Ping

Introduction:

GuoPing, female,professor, doctor and master tutor in Law School of Dalian Maritime University, deputy director of the maritime law department, and party branch secretary of maritime law department and director of the maritime law office in international maritime law research center.

She has taught at Dalian Maritime University since July 1990, engaging in the teaching and scientific research work in international law (maritime law) and the environmental and resources protection law. From September 2000 to September 2001, she studied in the maritime law research center of University of Southampton as a visiting scholar. From 2007 to 2008, she studied at institute of maritime law of Tulane University as American Fulbright senior visiting scholar.

Research Areas:

mainly engaged in the research of maritime law in the field of international law, and civil liability legislation direction for preventing marine pollution in the field of environmental and resources protection law.

Social Affiliations: the arbitrator of China Maritime Arbitration Commission,  director of China Maritime Law Association, deputy secretary-general and director of the academic department in Maritime Law Research Committee of Liaoning Provincial Law Society, executive director of International Law Research Committee of Liaoning Provincial Law Society, executive director of the Dalian Law Society and committeeman of Academic Committee; Part-time lawyer; legal adviser of Dalian municipal government, member of experts for young and middle-ageddecision-making and consultation in Liaoning Province.

Major awardsincludes “ Research onLegislation Characteristics and Development Trend Of International Maritimeand Countermeasures in China inthe 21st century” won third prize of China Institute of Navigation in 2002; “The Trend of International Maritime Legislation and Countermeasures Research” won the first prize among works in the 8th Social Science with Excellent Achievements in Liaoning Province in 2002, and was awarded the first prize for Outstanding Achievements among works in Dalianin the same year; “The Practice and Law of Chartering (second edition)”won the second prize of Science Book in Dalianin November 2003; the subject “About Modifying the Maritime Law of the People's Republic of China”, with her participation, won the third prize of the Progress in Science and Technology in Liaoning Province in 2004, “Monographic Study on Maritime Law”, which she participated in compiling, won the first prize amongworks in the 11th Social Science with Excellent Academic Achievements in Dalian in 2005 and the second prize of Philosophy Social Sciences Achievements for 2003 to 2004 , inLiaoning province, the project “About Establishing Legal Environment for Important Shipping Center of Northeast Asia in Dalian”, with her participation as the main member, awarded the ten law outstanding achievements of “Blue and White Porcelain Cup” for 2004 to 2005 in Liaoning Province, the paper, “The Legal Construction on the Common Development of the Shipping Center in Northeast Asia and Regional Economy on Northeast Area”, won the first prize in the 1st Law Forum of northeast in2006 and the first prize in the 1st academic annual meeting of Philosophy Social Sciences in Liaoning Province in2007, her monograph “Shipping Business and Maritime Law (second edition)” won the first prize of Dalian Science Work for 2009 in December 2009 and High Quality Teaching Material in Liaoning Province, won the second prize in the 1th Excellent Teaching Material of Book Award of China University Press and so on.

She has been granted the honorary title of "Outstanding Teacher", "Outstanding Member" and "Hundreds of Outstanding Youths" of school, "Hundred Thousand Million Project Talents of Liaoning Province", the advanced individual of the first National Transportation Enterprises under the rule of law, the well-known shipping experts of Dalian Maritime University and so on.
