DMU Law School Extends Condolences on the Passing of Associate Professor Theodora Nikaki of Swansea University (U.K.)

We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Theodora Nikaki. It is a great loss to academia in the field of maritime law.

Through her contribution to maritime law especially in the areas of carriage of goods by sea, multimodal transportation, and commercial litigation and arbitration, Dora had earned the greatest respect and admiration of her colleagues and students alike. Many DMU law students who studied at Swansea over the past several years were fortunate to have her as their teacher. Many of our DMU law faculty members who visited Swansea were equally gratified by her cooperative spirit and kindness.

Dora was a shining star in the field of international maritime law. We take this opportunity to express our deepest sympathies to the members of the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law for the loss of a dear friend and an aspiring young scholar. She will be remembered by all of us at DMU.

With kindest regards,

CHU Beiping

Dean, Professor of Maritime Law

On behalf of the whole faculty of the Law School of

Dalian Maritime University
