Invited by theCentre for Chinese Law,Faculty of Law of theUniversity ofHong Kong, Professor Filippo Lorenzon,Chair of Maritime and Commercial LawofDalian Maritime University, delivered a presentation regarding“Sulphur Emissions from Ships and BIMCO’s 2020 Marine Fuel Sulphur Content/ Fuel Transition Clauses for Time Charter Parties: a Step in the Right Direction?”at HKU on March 29, 2019.
Professor Lorenzon discussedthe most recent international and European legislation on emissions from ships and the recently published BIMCO 2020 Marine Fuel Sulphur Content and Fuel Transition Clauses for Time Charter Parties. He focusedon the allocation of costs risks and responsibilities between owners and charterers and how further down the commercial line the consequences of such legislation wouldspread.
Professor Lorenzonjoined the DMU Law School since the September of 2018. He has contributed greatly to the construction of the first–class discipline at DMU with his continued research impacts on international maritime law and shipping industry.
