Prof. DUN Ning joined the Law School of DMU as a professor and a PhD supervisor in Criminal Law in 2021. He previously taught at the Law School of Hebei University as a professor and a doctoral supervisor. He was also the director of the Research Centre for Criminal Rule of Law and Crime Governance of Hebei University.

His postgraduate education was in Southwest University of Political Science & Law (SWUPL) from where his thesis for the Master Degree was awarded “2010 Outstanding Thesis for Master Degree” in 2010 by SWUPL and later “The Outstanding Thesis for Master Degree” in 2012 by the authority of Chongqing city. He obtained his PhD from Beijing Normal University (BNU) from where his doctoral dissertation won “The Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of BNU” in 2015.

His research experience extends to Chinese criminal law, comparative criminal law, criminal penalties and criminal policy. He is the author of three monographs and is the co-author for more than 10 books. In addition he has published extensively in the top journals in his field.

He is currently the member of the board of director oftheCriminal Execution LawInstituteof the Chinese Law Society, the Vice Chairman of CriminologyInstituteof HebeiProvinceLaw Society, and theVice Chairman ofthePublic Security and GovernanceInstitute of Liaoning ProvinceLaw Society.
